Review Fireworks
FIREWORKS (MULTIPLE AUTHORS)PUBLISHER: Scholastic Inc.PAGE COUNT: 240GRADE: BGoodreads I Amazon I Barnes and Noble"Hot sun. Soft white sand. Bejewled flip-flops. Crashing surf. That shirtless blond lifeguard...Summertime is the essence of sexiness, sass, and fun. In this juicy collection, four fabulous, bestselling teen authors each show us a different side of summer romance, from the first flush of a seaside crush to the sting of a breakup on a traveling teen tour. Get out your sunscreen, slip on your shades, and prepare to be dazzled by these sizzling stories."Okay, so the cover of this book kills me. Passing by it in the bookstore, it looks like a total fluff-fest - when it's actually so much more than that. The four stories in this book have a central theme: summer romance, but they're all so unique because they touch on important things - the importance of friendship, confidence, and responsibility.Even though I was sitting at home on a boring summer day while reading "Fireworks", I feel like I got four vacations for 8.99. Niki Burnham took me to some beachy island paradise. Erin Haft brought me back to my camp days. Sarah Mlynowski took me to "France "(eee!) to hang out with some international boys. Finally, Lauren Myracle took me to a modern day ball on Independence Day with an inspirational read about self-discovery. There's literally something for everyone in this collection.I really liked this anthology. It was short and sweet but also a really satisfying novel. It's perfect for any YA lover stuck in a summer haze!
