Christina and Jake are neck-and-neck on iTunes, but a glitch has kept Josh Kaufman out of the Top 10, and could affect tonight's vote! How will the show address the issue? And which singer from last night's performance show will be declared The Voice?
Rickey.org readers predict Christina Grimmie will win by an incredibly narrow margin of 36.35% to Josh Kaufman's 35.03%. Jake Worthington is predicted to finish in third with 29% of the vote. No matter how things turn out, it should be an exciting finale. But it's not too late to vote in the poll, so head on over to add your prediction! Also, check out the Top 3 post-show power rankings to see where your favorites landed!
Without further adieu, let's get this show on the road!

RECAP
-We open with a video package recapping last night's show, rendering the hourlong recap show that just aired utterly useless. Blake thinks Jake deserves to win because he'll be a future hero to others, while Usher feels Josh deserves this. Adam, meanwhile, truly believes that Christina had the best night of the three remaining finalists last night. He feels she'll win, and while I'd love for him to be right, I have my doubts that he will be. You know, because country music.
-And we're live with Carson noting that iTunes votes over last night's fourteen hour voting window will not be counted due to the glitch over Josh Kaufman's "Set Fire to the Rain" single. However, it apparently wouldn't have had much of an outcome on the result anyway. So what was the point then?
ONE REPUBLIC PERFORMS "LOVE RUNS OUT"
-I like the song, and Ryan Tedder is one of those vocalists that never gets his proper due, even though the man is insanely talented beyond just his songwriting capabilities. But all I could think during this was "Eh, Josh did it better."
-Back from break, Carson asks what the coaches would like to say to their contestants. Adam tells Christina that no matter what happens tonight, she'll have a record deal because he would like to sign her to his label. Shakira gets to talk even though she doesn't have a contestant left, and Usher posits that we could finally have a new coach winning The Voice. Blake says no matter what, he's going to miss Shakira and Usher. They have a group hug that thankfully doesn't become a selfie moment, before Shakira and Usher offer up "Thank Yous" to the band, the crew, their fellow coaches, and to Carson. A charming, endearing farewell.
JAKE PERFORMS WITH KAT, KRISTEN, AUDRA, MORGAN, AND RYAN
-Jake describes Kat as a "bad mamma jamma" while talking about how Kristen has always had her back. He chose Audra out of Team Blake loyalty and respect for her talent. He praises Ryan Whyte Maloney's abilities, and then notes he chose Morgan Wallen due to the musical sensibilities they share.
-They sing "Summertime" by Kenny Chesney, and I'll never stop loving that The Voice allows contestants to craft their own finale performances, complete with bringing back some of the better contestants who didn't get through. I just love that about this show, and it pays off here in spades. This is just a fantastic performance. I was particularly impressed by Ryan Whyte Maloney. Why didn't he get through, again?
-Apropos of nothing: Marry me, Audra.
-Back from break with Carson introducing a bunch of videos from fans and celebs (including Tara Lipinski) answering which Voice personalities they'd add to their Sprint Family plan if they could. A cute filler video, and nothing more.
CHRISTINA GRIMMIE AND ED SHEERAN PERFORM "ALL OF THE STARS"
-Because people need to be crying on a Tuesday night, Ed Sheeran and Christina Grimmie perform "All of the Stars," the song "The Fault In Our Stars". It's completely acoustic, and guys
GUYS
EVERYONE. "LISTEN TO ME."
THIS WAS STUNNING
I didn't love anything this season as much as I loved this. Ed and Christina's voice blended together beautifully, and it was just such a gorgeous, deeply felt vocal. So good. Seriously, SO GOOD. 10/10 would download.
NON-U.S. VIEWERS, WATCH HERE: Christina Grimmie and Ed Sheeran, "All of the Stars"
-Back from break with our next group performance, and it's a Hall and Oates classic! I LOVE THOSE GUYS!
DELVIN CHOICE, JAKE BARKER, MORGAN WALLEN, PATRICK THOMSON AND STEVIE JO SING "SHE'S GONE"
-They sound pretty damn great here. I gave this season a lot of guff in the early going, but this season actually had a fairly deep talent roster. Granted, my big issue was with how a lot of these contestants were used, as hardly any of these cut contestants were given songs that maximized their potential. This song is, surprisingly, a song that brings out the best in everybody. They could go on tour as a five-man group and it'd probably be a damn good show. I'm not kidding.
-Mel B. is in the audience to promote "America's Got Talent", as she notes they have great singers, a strongman who pulls a car with his teeth, and a pig who tries to solve a math problem. "Blake Shelton is on another NBC show?" Carson asks. Where has "this" Carson been?!
-Back from break with a special video
LIFESTYLES OF USHER RAYMOND
-Robin Leech (or a very good sound-a-like) narrates "The Lifestyles of Usher Raymond," who explains his personal mantras, such as "Evolve or evaporate" and "If you're the second winner, you're the first loser" or some other such silliness. He also talks about eating cabbage raw, among other quirks that apparently make Usher the impenetrable embodiment of cool he's been all these years. I kind of hope Usher isn't through with The Voice for good. He's not always the liveliest coach, but it's clear he takes this process seriously, and shows like this have too few coaches/judges/mentors like him.
JUSTIN MOORE PERFORMS "LETTIN' THE NIGHT ROLL"
-Justin Moore is apparently the Academy of Country Music's reigning New Artist of the Year, yet his voice renders him virtually indistinguishable from a young Blake Shelton. Maybe that's why he's been so successful? Either way, I don't particularly enjoy this song, even while I have no trouble admitting that it's actually quite catchy, and Moore sings it very well. It's just not my ticket.
JOSH KAUFMAN PERFORMS WITH TJ WILKINS, SISAUNDRA LEWIS AND STEVIE JO
-For his "Bring Back Performance," Josh is bringing back TJ Wilkins, Sisaundra Lewis, and Stevie Jo (hmm, he's popular tonight). Josh loves TJ's soulful style, and says the same of Stevie Jo, recalling when he sang Usher's own song and got him to turn his chair around during blind auditions. Josh also notes what a talent Sisaundra is, and how great it was to have her around this season.
-They perform "Am I Wrong" by Nico Vinz, and it's a groovy track that I wish Josh had performed at some point during the competition. It's the kind of modern, funk-influenced song that makes Josh feel immediately current and relevant in mainstream music. Not that he doesn't now, since I think he could be a smashing Adult Contemporary artist. But I think he might want more than that, so something like this would probably be the best route for him to take, musically. In short, I absolutely loved this. Everyone sounded like a million bucks, particularly Josh, who just lays it down here. TJ and Sisaundra bring serious fire too, and Stevie Jo continues to illustrate just why everybody has been picking him tonight. A terrific performance.
-After the performance, we throw to a video package honoring Shakira
YOU DON'T MESS WITH SHAKIRA
-Blake talks about how you never want to find yourself on the wrong end of an argument with Shakira. Usher says, "While she's talking, shut up." It's an amusing little video, with clips of Shakira's fiery arguments throughout the season. Adam notes she's a firecracker, and then mimics walking on eggshells when he's around her. All these clips of Classic Adam has me hating the blonde look even more. Okay, maybe "hate" is a bit strong. I don't really hate it, per se. I just don't particularly think it's a great look, is all. On the plus side, he at least matches hair color with Shakira, which makes them look a bit like feuding siblings here.
ED SHEERAN PERFORMS "SING"
-I didn't particularly care for this, even though I love the song and adore Ed. Maybe it's the awkwardness of how his falsetto on the chorus sounds live. I don't know, something just seemed off. That said, it was a very lively and electric performance that illustrates Ed's versatility, since it's miles from what he did earlier with Christina. I would be remiss if I didn't point out how awesome the set is for this, as he's surrounded by old TVs. I'm easily impressed by that sort of thing, obviously. (Come to think of it, I'm easily impressed in general.)
NON-U.S. VIEWERS, WATCH HERE: Ed Sheeran, "Sing"
-Back from break with Carson interviewing the eliminated teammates and friends of the finalists: Tessa and Bria wish Christina luck, saying "All for one, one for all." However, they also wish all the best to Josh and Jake because "We're all family here." Sisaundra and Audra wish Jake the best as well, while Josh's teammates want him to "kick butt."
JAKE WORTHINGTON PERFORMS "MOUNTAIN MUSIC" WITH ALABAMA
-It's more or less the performance you'd expect. If I didn't already know this song already, I'd think it was a Swon Brothers original. As it is now, it's mostly just an okay performance. It feels more like Jake and Alabama are just hanging out. And, honestly, that adds a bit to the performance as a whole, since there's a lighthearted, fun feel to it all. However, it just doesn't sound all that great, and I'm not sure if it's the acoustic, or Jake and Alabama being out of sync or what. But hey, it's the finale. As far as this show is concerned, these contestants are off the clock.
-Back from break, we throw to the girls' group performance, with Carson going through all their names lightning fast, and including a singer named "MJ". Apparently, he meant Melissa Jimenez. But did he ever once call her that during this season? JUST SAY Melissa Jimenez, Carson!
DANI MOZ, DEJA HALL, MADILYN PAIGE, TESS BOYER, AND MELISSA JIMENEZ PERFORM "UMBRELLA"
-I really wanted to like this. I really did. But this was the hottest of hot messes. It's as if each woman was singing a different song, in a different fashion, with Madilyn trying to draw out each note, Deja seeming hesitant, and nobody blending all that well. Such a shame, because these singers are all talented individually.
KIA CAR GIVEAWAY
-In this video, Josh talks about how much this experience means to him, saying that this is an incredible chance for him to win for himself, his family, and for Usher. For his part, Usher feels Josh would be a deserving winner. However, Blake feels Jake deserves this as well. Jake discusses what this means to him, and then we throw to Adam, who praises Christina, who says that Adam always would tell her to "do your Grimmie thing to it." The interviewer then asks how each of the finalists would feel to win a car. And we get the least surprising car surprise in history, as the studio lights up and they find all-new Kia cars behind them. Even with the studio lights dimmed, how on Earth did they not notice those cars behind them?
ADAM LEVINE IS A FAN OF EVERYTHING
-And now it's time for the Adam Levine tribute, as the filler rolls on. This is kind of amusing though, as the coaches talk about how everything seems to be Adam's favorite song. We get a montage of him calling all sorts of songs "one of my favorite songs," and calling a bunch of different singers "one of the best/most badass singers in the world." I never really noticed this before, but it's a funny point. Yeah, it was filler, but I thoroughly enjoyed this, right down to Blake lamenting that Adam has never listed one of his songs as a favorite.
ROBIN THICKE PERFORMS "GET HER BACK" WITH JOSH KAUFMAN
-The "Paula, Take Me Back" Tour 2014 is continuing for Robin Thicke, but man, am I glad he stopped here. "Get Her Back" is a minimalist jam that harks back to "Lost Without U," and it's a perfect fit for Josh's voice. I swear, both Josh's and Christina's pairings have produced some incredible moments, which is why it's such a shame that Jake's duet with Alabama was such a dud. Unless he has something else coming up, although with less than a half hour left until we crown a winner, I'm doubting it.
-Back from break with videos from home for each of the three finalists, and it's so endearing I found myself wishing "The Voice" did Hometown Visits as well.
TIM MCGRAW PERFORMS "CITY LIGHTS"
-Now this is more my speed. Of all the modern country tracks performed tonight, this was my favorite. Just an incredibly breezy, eminently enjoyable tune. And McGraw sounded damn good on the track, to boot. I might actually have to scoop this thing up on iTunes when this show is over. I genuinely enjoyed this.
CHRISTINA GRIMMIE PERFORMS WITH TESS BOYER, BRIA KELLY, AND JAKE BARKER
-Christina has chosen Bria for having a great voice, and for having an incredible rockers' sensibility. She also loves Tess and her voice, so she's in, naturally. Lastly, Christina selects Jake because he was such a good "big brother" to her during the competition. With her team assembled, she launches into "Team" by Lorde
-It's a decent performance, although I think Josh's group takes the cake for the "Bring Back" Performances. Still, this wasn't bad or anything, just kind of all-over-the-place. With that said, I forgot how much I liked Jake. And Bria hits an exceptional run towards the end that seems to go largely ignored in the background. So impressed.
BLAKE AND JAKE: CAUGHT IN A RAD BROMANCE
-Granted, they didn't actually title the video that, but I felt like being corny. This video is kind of great though, as it mostly centers on Blake and Jake bickering back and forth about everything from family, to music, to movies. Blake compares Jake to a little brother he loves, while Jake says Blake is like the uncle he never had. For his part, Blake says he can imagine standing in the winner's circle with Jake. It's a quirky little video that has a touching moment or two.
COLDPLAY PERFORMS "A SKY FULL OF STARS"
-Chris Martin sounds fantastic here, and the song isn't bad either. It's more of the ethereal, atmospheric semi-rock/not-quite-pop that Coldplay does now. I imagine it'll have its proponents and detractors, but this was a perfectly good performance to close out the season. It's kind of crazy to think how successful they are now. It feels like I was just picking up Parachutes yesterday and trying to get all my friends to listen to it. (Achievement Unlocked: Hipster Status) Still, these guys totally deserve it. Few bands deliver mainstream singles I like with anywhere near Coldplay's level of frequency, even though my enthusiasm for said singles wears off pretty quickly (Apple commercials made certain I got tired of "Viva La Vida" within weeks). I don't get why it's become such a cliche to like Coldplay, but these guys are great.
-Now, with all that having been said, can we just crown a winner already?
FINAL RESULTS
-And we get last words from all the finalists, with each of them thanking their coaches for everything they did, and getting emotional, but also increasingly nervous. Josh is honored to have worked with Usher and learned so much, while Jake adores Blake, and Christina loves Adam whether he signs her or not. Time for the results
CHRISTINA GRIMMIE finishes in THIRD PLACE!
JAKE WORTHINGTON is runner-up!
JOSH KAUFMAN WINS THE VOICE 2014!
TEAM USHER IS VICTORIOUS!

THE VOICE -- "Live Finale" Episode 621B -- Pictured: (l-r) Josh Kaufman, Usher -- (Photo by: Trae Patton/NBC)
-Because NBC is terrible at timing out its shows, we get some brief words from Josh and NO VICTORY PERFORMANCE?! Nope, we immediately cut to black as that's a wrap on Season 6 of The Voice. Well that's just silly. But hey, now Adam and Blake aren't the only coaches to have won The Voice! That's kind of outstanding, actually.
-So what did you think of the results? Did the right artist win The Voice? Sound off in the comments! And thank you for hanging out with us this season! We'll see you in the fall! (And hopefully before)

When your partner speaks, do you think you're as good a listener as the family dog or cat? Lets take a look at what pets may bring to the table with good listening skills and emulate their behavior:
1. Look directly at your partner and pay attention - don't let your mind wander off topic or to your potential response. Make the person who is speaking the most important one in the universe at that moment.
Allow your partner to complete his or her thoughts. When it is appropriate, use active listening to indicate that you understand what they are saying. Don't interrupt or offer your opinion unless you are asked.
3. Tune in to the emotional undercurrent coming from the speaker and let him or her know that you empathize and provide unconditional support. Staying physically close allows you to "touch" your partner virtually as well as in reality.
4. Allow your partner the freedom and time to find his or her own solution. By demonstrating this trust in your partner's abilities, you can be supportive but not directive.
Recognize your partner's perspective. For men whose first reaction may be to solve a problem described to them, remember that many women are seeking not solutions but to have their concerns heard. They want to have their feelings validated by those closest to them. Women are generally attuned to talking about what is bothering them and are more likely to feel loved and cherished when the men in their life connect with them in this way.
On the other hand, men's conversations often revolve around how to fix things, solve a problem, accomplish a goal - that is, when they're not about the score of the latest, or a classic old, game. For some, the focus may be about winning, being the best, outperforming the others in a competition, being at the top of the food chain - it's almost as it their confidence and self-worth depend on it.

Many people are born leaders, yet the ability to lead is actually an art and an amazing collection of skills which can be learned and sharpened. The following top ten daily habits will help you and/or your clients grow as a leader personally, professionally, and spiritually.
1. Spend 30 minutes each morning looking for "cracks" in the major areas of your life.
Your depth of character is key to determining your success as a leader. It is easy for us to say that we are "in integrity," but your actions are the real indicators of strength of character. Spend 30 minutes each morning looking at the major areas of your life: career, marriage, family, community, and spirituality. Write down any instances where you see "cracks" (you have cut corners, something is inconsistent, you have not kept your word, you have been dishonest, etc.) Do all in your power to repair those cracks by apologizing and dealing with the consequences of your actions. After facing up to past actions, begin a plan that will rebuild you and prevent you from making further mistakes.
2. Show up and be ten minutes early for every appointment.
Great leaders show up for every appointment, and they are always on time. Each day, practice not only showing up but being ten minutes early for each and every appointment. "The early bird gets the worm" has never been so true than when it applies to becoming a great leader that others want to follow.
3. Be dedicated to a high level of learning.
Great leaders are highly competent, because they are dedicated to a high level of learning, growth, and improvement. Spend 15-30 minutes each day devoted to learning something new. Do not settle for knowing "how" to do something. Dig deeper by asking the question "why" and then, go find the answer. Search the internet, interview an expert, or take a day trip to find the answer to a question that is on your mind or the minds of those who follow you.
4. Be simple and crystal clear in all communication.
As a leader, your communication should be simple, clean, and clear as a bell. Examine both written and verbal communication for simplicity and clarity. Use as few words as possible, and eliminate jargon and "big words" from your vocabulary. Express yourself in a way that your listeners can understand.
5. Surround yourself with great people.
One of the secrets of a great leader is great people. Hire the right staff, surround yourself with a strong inner circle, and spend time daily with people who have a variety of gifts. With the support of a strong circle of men, women and children, you will be ready for anything that comes your way.
6. Develop a sense of commitment and responsibility.
People do not follow leaders who are not committed and responsible. Commitment and responsibility can be measured by the hours you spend and how you spend them, the money you spend and how you spend it, and by what you do for others. Spend 15 minutes each day analyzing your time, your checkbook, and your volunteer work. Look closely at how much time you spend with family and friends as compared to work, how you spend your money, and how you give back to the community. You may be very surprised at what you find.
7. Develop a positive attitude by altering your mind.
It is very possible to alter your attitude by altering your mind. Saturate yourself daily with motivational literature, positive people, and inspiring music/art. By conditioning your mind to be more positive on a daily basis, you will find that winning will be a daily reward of your life.
8. Accept responsibility.
Great leaders never play the role of a victim. They recognize that part of being a great leader is being ultimately responsible for all successes and failures. On a daily basis, analyze your current projects, and ask yourself "Have I done all that needs to be done? What have I not done that I should?" Once you have analyzed each project, if you find a weakness, go the extra mile by working extra hours, hiring an outside expert, or getting really creative to repair the weakness or to turn it into a success!
9. Make self-discipline a part of your lifestyle.
What do you need to develop self-discipline? Following a better diet or exercise routine? Getting up one hour earlier? Being rigorous with your spending? Learning something new every day? Eliminate excuse-making from your life, and begin to develop habits that will invite self-discipline to become the foundation of your life. Hire a coach to support you during the development of a routine of self-discipline, and remove rewards until the job is done!
10. Develop courage by facing fear.
By a show of courage, you will inspire others to follow and to walk in your footsteps. Spend 15-30 minutes each day doing something simply for the sake of developing courage: speak to an audience, make a difficult phone call, learn a new skill, write an article or a top ten, or visit someone you have always wanted to meet. As Eleanor Roosevelt acknowledged: "You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along. You must do the thing you think you cannot do."

Get back with your ex
A divorce is never an easy thing to deal with. While not all divorces are ugly and bitter, they can still be expensive and time consuming. And above all they can still be emotionally draining. However there are a lot of sources out there that can help you gain insight into a divorce to better help you deal with it.
A divorce book is one of the many ways you can learn about the details of divorces. Armed with that knowledge you can better deal with the ordeal and make better decisions. There are five main aspects you want to take into consideration during a divorce. These five things can make the difference between coming out alright, and getting swept away during a divorce.
1. You want to avoid getting your children involved as much as you can. As much as we might hate to admit it, divorces can bring out our ugly side and make us do things we would not normally do. During a divorce parents will often use their kids as weapons or battering chips. As awful as that sounds, it is a fairly easy trap to fall in.
Parents will try to force their kids to pick sides for two reasons. The parent wants some re-assurance during these troubling times, they want to make sure their kid still loves them. They also want to hurt their spouse which they feel is causing all the trouble.
However you must not let yourself fall to these petty emotions. Regardless of how bad your divorce is, you must work with your spouse to maintain a stable environment for your children.
Click to get your ex back
2. Another thing you will often find in a divorce book is how to make proper demands. Divorces are all about both sides getting what they earned together. And people will often times use this as a chance to enact revenge by taking everything. Do not do this, instead try to ensure both you and your partner get a fair deal. If you are leaving on bad terms there is already enough resentment, you do not need to add to it by taking everything.
3. Communicating with your spouse is another thing you should avoid doing. Whether it is on good terms or bad, it is best to only talk through your attorney or when your attorney is present. This avoids potential legal problems down the road.
4. Also try to keep good records of various things. The main thing you should keep records on are your finances. Sometimes partners will try to hide money to keep their spouse from getting their fair amount. By keeping records you can prevent this from happening. You can also keep tabs on shared accounts so that your spouse does not try to take all of the money.
5. The last thing a divorce book might tell you is to always talk with your lawyer. Your lawyer is there to protect both you and your assets during these troubling times, so confiding in them and consulting them is important. Never take action without first consulting your lawyer so you can avoid making a mistake.

A lot of men have a big problem: they don't know how to talk to women. In particular, they don't know how to talk to a woman they find attractive or how to approach a girl they really like and would like to get to know better. There are a ton of books in existence on how to flirt with women but not one of them spills the absolutely crucial secrets you need to learn and understand if you want to have women eating out of your hand every time you talk to them.
Firstly you have to think about the reasons you've failed before. Obviously failure is not the first thing you want to think about but it's crucial you do so to learn how to seduce a woman successfully. Were you coming on too strong? Did you operate on your own or with a friend aka a wingman? Did you pick up her verbal and non-verbal cues? And what were the signals you were giving out?
The fact is that there is so much more to learning about how to talk to a woman than simply asking her questions about herself. Women are too sharp for that - they can almost smell and will always pick up a fake note in your voice. The best way to find out how to talk to hot women is to observe a master - the type who has women practically licking his feet, laughing at his every word and gazing at him with Bambi eyes...
Discovering how to flirt with women is an art. Some men are better artists than other guys. Take heart though because, just as with any art, you will be able to polish your techniques to the point that you could approach a girl and score a slamdunk every time. Just think about the guys who make it seem easy. Let me tell you one of their secrets - they always seem relaxed. They are relaxed because they've learned the secret of accessing and then projecting the supreme but quiet confidence that has women panting for more.
There are a number of ways you can gain this same confidence. You could try NLP or a more visceral approach. Gaining confidence, however, is just part of the game. You must also be able to project the perfect amount when you talk to women. Most importantly, you must learn when to hold back. Learn how to control what you say - and, crucially, what you don't say - and you'll become an expert on how to flirt with women. Mix that in with real sincerity and you're way ahead of most men.
How to Seduce A Woman (YES REALLY!)
Want to know the best way to seduce a woman? Learn not only how to talk to a woman but how to listen. Pay close attention to what comes out of her mouth and when you talk to women make sure you are the one who takes up less air time. You see, the absolute no. 1 one to have her hanging on to your every word (AND THEN SOME...) is to mirror what she says.
By this I don't mean repeat everything word for word - she would just think you are insane. But really listen to the subjects she likes to talk about, her opinions, her views...Again, you don't have to agree with her but - and this is the clever bit - you do have to match her tone and pace. It's an old NLP trick but it works. We like people who sound like us. If she talks softly, lower your voice. If, conversely, she's very animated then you have to keep up your energy levels. The watchword here is SUBTLE. If she catches on to what you're doing, you're sunk.
Also make sure you maintain eye contact and then break it off now and then when she's talking. This will reassure her you are paying attention while also conveying the message that she has to keep you interested. Yes, that's right. Keep you interested. Flirting is a two way game. The real art of seduction is leading someone to think they are the one who really wants this to happen and you create that state by mirroring her so she feels comfortable.
I know you're thinking that you're going to have to feign attention on all sorts of topics you cannot stand and, yes, it's true you might have to look eager even during a discussion on kitten training. Then again, if you really can't bring yourself to do this maybe she's not the girl for you...

Being a single parent can be one of the toughest positions to be in when you are looking for love on a single online dating site. You have unique situations to deal with and any decisions you make cannot be based on your opinions alone. You have a family, and they are children so they depend upon you to make the right choices and the right decisions. But this doesn't mean you don't want to be in a relationship with someone again that you may meet on an online dating site.
Where to find that elusive date
If you are like many women, you feel you can offer your children so much more once you are in a stable and loving relationship no matter if it is someone you have met on a single online dating site or in the physical world. Utilizing the services of a single online dating site can be a great way for you to meet potential dates who have many of the same problems as you have. They won't be surprised by the chaos an ex can cause and they will certainly understand why you can't chat too long on a single online dating site as you have to tend to your children.
How about the singles scene?
Single parents have no time for the singles scene unless of course it is a debate about individually wrapped single cheese slices. Imagine if you will, a mom who works hard and commutes to work 5 days a week, doing grocery shopping, taking care of laundry, checking on homework as well as the myriad of other responsibilities. She has to keep the household running smoothly and then of course she needs time to check out the "singles scene?" Where is she to find the clothing, the money and the time to check out what is available at the local meat market? This is no way for her to date. So how will she get a date? Let her log on to a single online dating service.
My computer, my friend
Never has a computer been handier than in just this situation. A single parent can connect with other single parents when they join a single online dating site. This way they can not only talk to other parents of the opposite sex, they can also network and discuss common problems that kids of a certain age all seem to go through. You can have a world of support and advice when you find a single online dating site that is dedicated to bringing single parents together for fun, frolic and chat. Finding a date and making a relationship through a single online dating site is no longer the rarity, it is fast becoming the norm.
No matter what your special circumstances bring you to the experience of online dating services, Single Online Dating is ready to become your home base where you can network with friends and meet new people that just may become part of your permanent circle. Try logging on and see who you might connect with today.

[This is the second of a multi-part discussion of the possible
link between the GA Rev. War militia General Elijah Clark and
Capt. Christopher Clark of New Kent Co. VA. For those non-CLARK
researchers--two lines from Capt. Christopher and Penelope Clark
went to GA.: Micajah Clark who married Luranna Johnson 1770 in
Louisa Co. VA is the son of Bolling and Winefred (Buford), thus
grandson of Capt. Christopher. Christopher Clark Sr. of Elbert
Co. GA was the son of Micajah Clark Sr., thus grandson of Capt.
Christopher; his son Christopher m. Rebecca Davis.

CLARK Family Connections:
Gen. Elijah Clark of NC and GA
by Douglas Tucker
FEB 1997
Part One: Elijah Clark's Parents
The following paper reports on my search for the immediate ances
tors of General Elijah Clark of Georgia. The Georgia end of the
trail is fairly well-documented and I will not go into much of it
here except to mention that Elijah Clark and William Candler sol
diered together and became close friends and that after the end
of the Revolutionary War, Elijah and Hannah Clark lived adjacent
to Christopher Clark, son of Micajah and Luranna Johnson Clark.
Coincidences? Probably, but the publicly stated belief by later
Clarks of Christopher's line that Elijah was a blood relative was
more than enough to get me to sniffing out the trail of Elijah's
ancestors. My main goal, however, was to see if Elijah's trail
led to any new information about the ancestry of Christopher
Clark who is part of my line.
Discussion
I have puzzled about the relationship of land speculator John
Clark of Bladen Co., NC and "our" Clark family of VA. John Clark
first acquired land near Buffalo Island on the Great Pee Dee on 2
FEB 1743/44. Over the next 12 years, John Clark would receive 41
separate land warrants in Bladen and Anson Co. NC. He would sell
his Buffalo Island property to Benjamin Dumas Sr. of Hanover Co.,
VA in 1748, near the beginning of a sizable Quaker migration from
Hanover and Louisa Cos., VA to the border areas of North and
South Carolina. (No border in those days!) Most of Francis and
Cordelia Clark's children were part of this migration as was the
extended family of Andrew Moorman Sr., youngest son of Thomas and
Elizabeth Simpson Moorman.
John Clark's presence in Bladen Co. and the portion of Bladen
that became Anson Co. in 1748, in close geographic proximity to
the Clarks of Louisa Co. could have been simple coincidence.
Clark was a relatively common name and John hardly was a distinc
tive first name. In fact, another John Clark, a Scots immigrant,
was present in Bladen Co., having settled in eastern Bladen Co.
about 1736 near present-day Clarkton, east of Lumberton. (No con
nection, apparently, between the Clarks of Clarkton and John
Clark of the Pee Dee River.)
I also was curious about the origins of the Frances (Fanny) Clark
(c1714-1753) who married Benjamin Dumas Sr. (1706-1766) about
1730 and the Jemima Clark (some report her given name as Ruth)
who married Benjamin Dumas Jr. (1735-1796) about 1755. Given her
birth date (c1714), her name, her Quaker faith, and her home loca-
tion in St. Paul's Parish of Hanover Co., probably in close
proximity to the Dumas farm adjacent "Polegreen's old field",
Fanny Clark Dumas almost certainly was the daughter of one of the
sons of Micajah and Sally Ann Clark. Her most likely parents
would have been Francis and Cordelia Clark. (Fanny would not have
been listed in Francis Clark's 1769 will because she had died in
NC in 1753. Benjamin, who died in 1766, also was not listed in
Francis' will.) Alternatively, Fanny could have been a daughter
of Edward and Hannah Clark of Henrico Co who, although living in
a different county, were located just across the Chicahominy from
where the Dumas family lived. But Fanny's existence was not men
tioned in the 1736 disposition of the estate of Edward Clark of
Henrico.
Finally, it is possible that Fanny Clark Dumas was the daughter
of Micajah Clark Jr., who family legend says was the fourth and
youngest son of Micajah and Sally Ann Moorman. I am reasonably
convinced that Micajah Jr. was living in Hanover Co. through the
mid-1720's and was the Micajah Clark who bought property in
Goochland Co. adjacent ADAMS and Andrew MOORMAN Sr. in the later
1730's. (Anticapating loud cries of "error", I suggest that close
scrutiny of the dates of land transactions and the later disposi
tion of that land prove without any doubt that the Micajah Clark
living adjacent to Robert Adams was "Christopher's son!)
[Doug's right; I think he errs on this one--Capt. Christopher's
son Micajah married Robert Adam's daughter Judith before 1738. It
seems reasonable he would be the one purchasing land adjacent his
father-in-law. I'll eventually write a report on this Micajah
Sr. LSS]
Whatever her parentage, Frances Clark Dumas came from Hanover
Co., VA and not from NC. Jemima Clark, however, not only was a
Carolina Clark of uncertain parentage, but she was not a Quaker
as were most of the early Clarks of Anson Co. Was Jemima the
daughter of the mysterious John Clark of Anson Co.? Were John
and Jemima Clark somehow related to the Clark's of Hanover and
Louisa Cos. VA?
It turns out that Jemima Clark Dumas (b.1737) was either John
Clark's daughter or possibly his niece, the daughter of older
brother, Lewis Clark, who also was present in Anson Co. between
1750 and 1760. I have also seen records that suggest that
Jemima's surname was McClendon which was the surname of Benjamin
Dumas Sr.'s' second wife, Martha. I think not. The name Jemima is
present in several generations of the descendants of John Clark's
children, particularly the branches living in SC and GA which is
where Lewis Clark's children settled after the Revolutionary War.
Though I have not found a record of Lewis Clark's family, the
1755 date of the Dumas/Jemima Clark marriage was several years
after John Clark had moved further west to the Broad River Valley
in what is now Cherokee Co. SC. (John Clark's first wife, Mary,
died sometime shortly after 1754 and John married Mrs. Martha
Pickens, widow of John Pickens of Craven Co.) John's brother,
Lewis, appears to have remained behind to oversee Clark's
numerous properties along the Pee Dee River, some of which were
close to the property of the Dumas family who operated a ferry
across the Pee Dee at Buffalo Island. Later, two of John Clark's
married sons would also live on the Pee Dee River properties.
John Clark of Anson Co. NC,
Father of General Elijah Clark of GA
Back to John Clark of Anson Co. Using a variety of sources, in
cluding NC, SC and GA land records, Louise Hays' biography of
Elijah Clark ( Hero of Hornets' Nest ), official GA and NC
records, the Draper Manuscripts, and National Archives and DAR
records relating to the French & Indian and Rev. War service of
Clarks, I am" certain that the John Clark (c1705
c1768) who sold land to Benjamin Dumas Sr. in 1746 was also the
father of General Elijah Clark (1733-1799) of Georgia. This may
be old news to some Clark researchers, but it is new to me and
could yield important clues as to the origins of my Clark ances
tors. After all, some of Christopher Clark's descendants (notably
his great grandson James Clark who served as Governor of Ken
tucky) claimed blood relationship to both General Elijah Clark
and General George Rogers Clark. Perhaps John Clark of Anson Co.
can help us unravel some of the mystery.
For me, the clincher to the father/son relationship between John
and Elijah was a reference in the Hays' biography stating that
after the end of the Revolutionary War, Elijah Clark needed to
raise funds to pay for a "proper wedding" for his two oldest
daughters. To raise the money, he instructed his brother John and
Uncle Lewis, both then living in Anson Co., NC, to sell several
parcels of land in Anson Co. that had been given to Elijah by his
father. One of these properties, a 400 acre tract on Rocky Run on
the south side of the Pee Dee River about 3 to 4 miles from the
mouth of Rocky Run, was sold in 1784 to Richard Randle for L100.
[The "L" is for British pound; this ascii sign doesn't travel
well in cyberspace. LSS] This particular property had been ac
quired by John Clark on 3 OCT 1748 (item 2397" Land
Entries in North "vol. 1, 1735-1752, by Dr. A. B.
Pruitt), while the area was still the western frontier of Bladen
Co., and there was no record of it being sold until Elijah sold
it to Richard Randle.
Knowing where to look, I found other Anson Co. land records that
confirm the relationship and provide information on the location
of certain Clark's at specific dates. In" Co. NC Deed
Abstracts 1749-1766, Abstracts of Wills & Estates 1749-"by
Brent H. Holcomb, the following entries appear:
29 OCT 1748. John Clark of Anson Co. to Benjamin Dumas of
Louisa Co. Va, for L200 proclamation money...land in Bladen Co.
on north side of Great Pee Dee called Buffaloe (sic) Island, ap
plied for 2 FEB 1743/44, granted Clark 20 JUN 1746. (DCT--This is
where Ben Dumas established his ferry.)
27 JUL 1750. John Clark of Anson Co., labourer, to Benjamin
Dumas of same, labourer, for L50 proc. money...land on south side
of Great Pee Dee and north side of Rocky River...opposite Andrew
MOORMAN's land...400 acres granted to John Clark 13 APR
1749...wit: Charles MOORMAN, Anthony Hutchins, John Gregg. (DCT-
The Andrew Moorman referenced probably was Andrew Moorman Sr.,
Charles Moorman was his son.)
2 OCT 1751. John Clark, 250 acres in Bladen Co. on north
east side of the Great Pee Dee joining his own corner tree, widow
Harrington, and the River. (DCT. This was a colony grant as
reported by Hofman in" of North Carolina, Abstracts of
Land Patents, 1735-"It is included here because the widow
Harrington was likely Sarah Whitmel Harrington, paternal
grandmother of the future wife of John's son Elijah.)
10 DEC 1754. John Clark and Mary, his wife, of Anson Co. to
John Fenister (lease s5, release L40 VA money)...land on south
side of Broad River adjacent Love's line...400 acres. (DCT --This
property was 100 miles west of the Pee Dee in what is presently
Union Co. SC. John Clark appears to have first purchased property
along the Broad River on 26 MAR 1751. He was living there before
1753 as there is a 1753 land transaction in which Clark sells the
"land and house in which he now lives" to Richard Hughes of PA.
In a 1758 "dower" land sale affirmation, John Clark refers to
"Martha, my wife" who turns out to be the widow of John Pickens
of Cravens Co. NC. Thus Mary Clark died sometime between late
1754 and 1758.)
27 SEP 1754. John Clark Jun. witnessed a land sale from John
Conyers of Anson Co. to James Crunk. (DCT--First reference to
John Clark Jr. in the Anson Co. land records. It is not clear
from the entry abstract whether the property was located along
the Broad River in western Anson Co., or along the Pee Dee River
in the eastern part of the county.)
25 JAN 1755. Col. John Clark of Anson Co. to Benjamin Dumas
of same, for L30 proc. money of NC...land on the north side of
Great Pee Dee River adjacent Philip Henson's line, McAnthony
White's line...500 acres granted to John Clark in 1751. No wit
nesses. (DCT--Establishes John Clark's militia service which is
further confirmed by 1754 letter to Governor Rowan from Clark con-
cerning Indian raids which killed 16 settlers and captured 10,
contained in the official papers of the State of North Carolina.)
28 MAR 1755. John Clark, warrant for 800 acres in Anson Co.
on Pacolet River -- including place where he now lives, joining
the south side of the River. (DCT. John Clark sold his property
and house on the Broad River in 1753. He had established his new
home on the Pacolet before 1755.)
22 FEB 1765. Walter Gibson of Anson Co. to Shadrach Hogan of
same, for L10 proc. money...100 acres on southwest side of Pee
Dee, adjacent Benjamin MOORMAN, Rocky River, granted to Gibson 5
DEC 1763...Walter Gibson (seal) Wit: Joseph Culpepper, Elijah
Clark, Recorded July term 1766. (DCT-- It has been suggested
that John Clark's first wife, Mary, may have been a Gibson and
not a Turner or Griffith as I tend to believe. It is possible, of
course, but I like the Turner or Griffith options better. It's
too long to go into here but is covered later in this report.)
11 JUL 1764. David Hildreath & Ann Hildreath (et al)...all
of Anson Co. to John Clark of Same, for L10 s10... 300 acres on
Rocky River at mouth of Ugly Creek, in Mr. McCullock's
line...wit: Elijah Clark, John Gibson. (DCT--Other people link
Elijah and John Gibson. My guess is that Elijah and John were
close friends and that Elijah later named his youngest son Gibson
in honor of his friend.)
In" Co. NC Land Entrys, 1778-"the following items ap
pear. All relate to property in Anson Co. close to the Pee Dee
River.
#913 23 JAN 1779. John Hardy enters 150 acres in Anson Co.
on west of Rocky Run; includes land known as Elijah Clark's in
Walter Neck.
#1193 7 NOV 1784. Richard Whitehead enters 100 acres on
south side of Rocky Run; border Water's line; includes Elijah
Clark's old field.
#1205 7 APR 1785. Richard Whitehead enters 400 acres on
south side of Rocky Run; borders entry made by Whitehead "that
includes" Elijah Clark's old field and joins Lynch and Westfield.
(DCT. This particular land parcel was originally entered by John
Clark on 21 NOV 1746, described as follows: 400 acres in Bladen
Co. on south side of Pee Dee, border of John Westfield's upper
line, #1971" Land Entries in NC, vol 1: 1735-"by
Pruitt.)
These land abstracts establish that John Clark had a wife named
Mary and sons named John Jr. and Elijah, and that an Elijah Clark
was present and living on Rocky Run in Anson Co. during the
1760's and still had title (possibly lapsed?) to land there as
late as 1785. Also, they establish an extended business relation
ship between John Clark Sr. and Benjamin Dumas Sr., whose son was
to marry Jemima Clark. However, the land entries do not mention
Lewis Clark, John's younger borther, who other records show was
present in Anson Co. during roughly the same period. I suppose
(dangerous word) Lewis may have lived on land owned by John Clark
but never owned land in his own name.
Regulators Petition of 1769
One other record establishes the presence of Elijah and brother
John Jr. in Anson County in 1769. In that year, both John (no
Jr. as his father was dead) and Elijah signed the Regulators Peti-
tion to the Governor of NC protesting the Stamp Act and other
colonial taxes and considered a precursor to the Declaration of
Independence. Francis Clark Jr., Thomas Moorman, Achilles Moorman
and Benjamin Moorman also signed the same petition, as did Thomas
Arrington who I believe was the father of Elijah's wife Hannah.
(Note: Elijah Clark spelled his name both with and without an
"e". His children uniformally spelled the name without the "e".
His father also appears not to have used the "e". I have used the
CLARK spelling throughout this paper even though many records
prior to 1750 use a CLARKE spelling and some biographers have
used it as well. The Arrington family of NC spelled their name
both with and without a leading "H". The Harrington version seems
to have prevailed by the end of the 18th century.)

HOW TO IMPRESS ANY WOMAN
Wouldn't it be amazing to be able to impress ANY woman you met.
Imagine if the next time you went out or met up with a woman you could simply have her in awe over you?
Sounds good doesn't it?
Today, I want to talk about a SECRET that hardly any man knows about.
Maybe one man out of say...."choose you is to cat". perhaps a hundred.
These guys that know about it this simple idea probably don't even realize they are doing it! Therefore it hasn't ever really been spoken about....if you asked these men they wouldn't even know how to respond.
"One of my passions is to break down the painfully obvious things we see in every day life that we never actually stop to think about in the smallest details."
SO HOW CAN YOU IMPRESS ANY WOMAN ON THE PLANET?
Let's dig a little deeper"intelligent conversation with ". I personally believe that the majority of men want to impress a woman he is attracted to"kes him want to "catch then he will want to prove that he is the one". As always, the devil is in the details.
How do over 99.999 percent of men think you would impress a woman?
Perhaps he only talks about cool and safe stuff to try and impress her, after all, if she DOESN'T like something you are talking about she couldn't be impressed right?
1.) So he talks about his accomplishments, his fancy car, who he knows, what he's done in an effort to impress
2.)He backtracks on his words and changes what he says to better suit her ideals and opinions
3.) He focuses on commonalities they share and boring logic talk
4.) He avoids risky talk, sex talk, teasing, or anything that he feels might upset of offend her.
I mean logically if you've accomplished something have commonalities and don't talk about risky subjects then you may seem like a perfect match right?
Here is the problem.
LOGIC IS BORING.
2+2=4 BORING
2+2=6000?
WHAT? Now you're intrigued right?
What if I told you that there were invisible zeros that had been whited out of the equation? What if you discovered them all on your own?
Now we're talking.
Now we're having fun.
The trick is to NOT try and impress her"e Even while you make him aware of your". Trying to impress her leads to INAUTHENTIC BEHAVIOR" watching a girl who is confident and wh". That means you are trying to conform to HER standards.
She basically views this as disgusting when viewed under a SEXUAL lens.
Sure, she might think it's sweet that you are so nervous that you want her to like her.
Sure, that's cute like a 6 year old who's embarrassed because he's 6.
When it comes to SEXUAL attraction the game changes.
Logic goes out the window.
The type of behavior that surrounds "Trying to Impress" woman suggest that you are
1.) insecure
2.) seeking approval
3.) have ZERO experience with attractive women or women in general
4.) have NO self confidence
5.) have NO personal identity
6.) Have ZERO boundaries
Look over the list above.." unattainable and im". does that sound like a sexually attractive man?
Didn't think so.
So what should you do?
Have a good time, if you don't normally have a good time then you need to LEARN HOW.
HERE ARE TWO SIMPLE RULES OF THUMB.
1.) USE HUMOR
2.) LET HER CASUALLY FIGURE OUT YOUR LOGICAL QUALITIES ON HER OWN TIME OR IN THE SPIRIT OF HUMOR.
Let's say she says, what do you do?"
1.) You could answer normally, "I program computers and web-sites for banks that make over 68 billion dollars a year"
That sounds like you are trying to impress her.
BORING
If you casually answer with, "I program computers"
BORING
Let's try again.
She says, "what do you do?"
You say, BOOOORING! Let's talk about something more fun"st way you can get him to choo". Whats the meanest thing you've ever done to someone?"
Ooooh, now we're talking"ur intelligence Beau". You're directly challenging her, answering questions on YOUR TERMS in YOUR REALITY.
She may keep pestering you about what you can do.
Generally I'll say something like, "Well if i find out a little bit more about you, I mean the good stuff, then we can talk about boring stuff like work and you're favorite color"lubs and places he does and try to be interested i". So, tell me, what's the naughtiest thing you've EVER done."
Now you're leading the way, directing the conversation.
You could also say something like...
"Well I need to find out more about YOU first"gence make sure that you look unatta". I don't reveal the deep secrets of my life to just ANYONE you know.."t you are compatible as well as beautifu". so tell me are you generally and evil person or are you a sweet and kind good girl?"
Do you see the difference here? What has more edge? What is more interesting? What is she going to remember more?
Logic would say reveal your achievements, impress woman, get woman.
Sexual attraction says.."g and intelligent conversation w". lead conversation, invite her into YOUR REALITY, challenge her, let her discover your treasures.
Let's say you are a doctor or a lawyer.
Many men with a really good job will want to talk about it and impress her.
However what if you played a little hide seek with the question and then later she finds out you're a doctor?
That's like 2+2=6000
Now she's having fun, I mean this whole time she was talking to a Doctor?
What if you have a shitty job or are in school?
You can talk about why you have a shitty job or what you are studying.
Generally that's pretty boring though.
So don't focus on it"ve the rest, He will be attract". Lead the conversation elsewhere"ith your sparkling wit! Ignore him and look una". Mention it but quickly get back to some interesting banter.
THE MAN MUST LEAD
Impressing her does not mean answering all her questions on her terms.
Impressing her means inviting her into YOUR world and showing her around while letting her discover all the goodies.
So challenger her, tease her, play games with her, HAVE FUN.
Make her jump though hoops a little bit.....it's a good time.
I guarantee very few if any men have ever done this to her.
Don't TRY and impress her and you WILL impress her.
Best of luck out there!

The attached file is an article I have written for various music magazines.
It is entitled Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: Explanation and Prevention. Although it is meant for the musician, it has pertinent information for anyone suffering from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Enjoy!

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: Explanation and Prevention
by
Timothy J. Jameson, D.C., C.C.S.P.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a nemesis prevailing
throughout the musical professions. It has threatened and has
ended careers of many promising and well respected artists.
Education within the profession is of vital importance to
prevent the occurrence of this disease. This article will
explain why musicians are susceptible to developing CTS, the
causes of carpal tunnel syndrome, and finally, prevention of
these injuries.
What makes a musician susceptible to CTS? There are
numerous factors that all play an integral part. These injuries
are reported more in females than males. The numbers available
only tell us who reported the disease, not how many suffer from
the disease. This may be two totally different statistics.
There are many musicians who do not disclose their suffering in
fear of losing their jobs, especially if they are members of
orchestras where each position is sought after by many
applicants. We have learned that approximately 75% of symphony
musicians have suffered at some time in their career with a
musculoskeletal injury. Thus the prevalence is extremely high
within musicians. It has been suggested that people who are of
lesser build and have a smaller body frame are more susceptible
to injury due to the forces imposed upon the body by repetitious
movements. Symptoms usually result from a sudden increase of
practice time, a change of teachers, a change of instruments,
and long practice sessions without breaks. Smokers run a high
risk because of nicotine's constrictive affect on the blood
vessels. Anyone with underlying disease states such as
hypothyroidism, diabetes, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid or
osteoarthritis, blood vessel disease, and obesity, will be more
likely to develop CTS. Pregnant women tend to develop CTS
because of fluid retention, but the symptoms usually subside
once the pregnancy is over. Nonmusical professions such as
computer inputting or programming, and hobbies such as knitting
can lead the musician to CTS. Previous neck injury from a car
accident, from a bad fall, or from any trauma needs to be
evaluated. Previous shoulder injuries, such as dislocations are
important to note. A history of broken bones in the arm,
forearm, wrist, clavicle, shoulder blade can be a predisposing
factor. Finally, the particular instrument played by the
musician increases susceptibility. Violinists, violists,
guitarists, pianists, and percussionists are most at risk.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with CTS, the
following is a list of symptoms associated with the malady. CTS
leads to pain, numbness, tingling, and when at its worse,
weakness in the first three fingers of your hand. Symptoms can
occur in the forearm as well. Many sufferers complain of pain in
the hand or arm while sleeping. The person suffering from this
disease may experience difficulty holding the instrument,
clumsiness, drops objects such as glasses, and cannot grip well.
When it is severe, the artist loses complete use of his/her
hand, and will usually begin using the opposite hand to perform
daily activities.
It is my opinion that 80% to 90% of "carpal tunnel
syndrome" cases are not a direct result of median nerve
entrapment in the wrist. (This is the nerve that passes through
the small tunnel formed by the bones of the wrist and a
ligamentous covering). This is a controversial statement, but
my clinical experience has shown that most cases termed "CTS"
are a result of a combination of musculoskeletal and
neurological problems stemming from the wrist as well as in the
arms, shoulders, and neck regions. This is why it is necessary
to find a competant doctor who will investigate all these areas
to determine the extent of injury.
To explain how carpal tunnel syndrome develops, I
like to use the following analogy when explaining nerve flow
from the neck to the arms. Imagine the nerve in your arms are
like garden hoses, with water (energy) flowing at full pressure
when working properly. If you have arthritis in your neck,
previous whiplash injuries, misalignments of the spine, or
spinal curvature problems, this will cause a "kink" in the hose,
and decrease the flow of water (energy). This will lead to a
40% - 50% decrease of nerve flow to the arms and hands. The
nerves than pass under certain muscles that are tight and
constrictive, and the nerve flow may decrease to 30%. It gets
kinked as it passes through the carpal tunnel, leaving only 5%
or 10% of its normal energy, thus the numbness, tingling, and
weakness. This is why I state that performing surgery on the
wrist is usually not effective, since many times the problems
lie above that area.
A predisposing factor to this insult on the nervous
system is poor posture while playing the instrument. I will
not go too deeply into posture here due to space limitations.
Just keep in mind that when your mother told you to sit up
straight, it still applies while playing your musical
instrument! A hunched forward posture will create pressure on
the nerves traveling from the neck down through the shoulder.
This is especially important for the acoustic guitarist who
leans forward over the instrument while playing, and also the
pianist who leans forward to read sheet music. Inefficient use
and overuse of the hand and arm musculature while playing the
instrument is another major factor. How many of you keep a
pinkie pointed outward and extended while playing? How many of
you apply great amounts of pressure on to the fretboard or
keyboard with your fingers? How many guitarists put a
tremendous amount of pressure with their thumb on the neck of
the guitar, especially while playing bar cords? These aberrant
muscle actions lead to fatigue and soreness. Over a long period
of time, the body retains a somatic memory of these positions
and it becomes difficult to change them. This is where such
techniques as Feldenkreis and the Alexander Method come into
play.
How does the musician prevent these maladies from
occurring? The artist needs to use common sense and increase
his/her body awareness. Musicians are compared to athletes
because of the amount of training involved to play the
instrument, and the repetitive nature of the muscle movement.
The big difference is that athletes usually train with the
larger more powerful muscle groups. Musicians on the other
hand, need fine motor control of the smaller muscle groups of
the hands. Consider yourself an athlete preparing to train when
you pick up your instrument next time. Have you warmed up your
muscles adequately to "train"? Have you increased overall blood
flow and heart rate by performing some mild aerobic exercise?
Have you stretched the muscles in the arms, hands, and neck? If
you have not done these exercises, you are risking injury, just
as an athlete who runs a 100 meter race would if he/she did not
warm up beforehand.
The most important advice I can give is to take
breaks at least every 45 minutes. These breaks should be for 10
- 15 minutes in length and should include stretching and
self-massage on the arms, hands and shoulders. Become aware of
your body's needs. After you are done practicing, rehearsing,
or performing, don't just throw the instrument in the case and
leave. You need to cool down the muscles. Perform stretching
exercises and elongate the tightened muscle groups.
The more you as the musician become "in tune" with
your body, the better off you will be. Read books on
stretching, massage, and proper nutrition. Education,
prevention and maintenance are the keys to a pain free career.
Do not wait until symptoms arise to begin learning about
prevention. Start now - your musical career is depending upon
it!

"World Net Daily" is promoting a study by a UCLA graduate student which claims that Democratic female members of the U.S. House tend to look butch compared to their delicate feminine GOP counterparts.
"Female politicians with stereotypically feminine facial features are more likely to be Republican than Democrat, and the correlation increases the more conservative the lawmaker's voting record," said lead author Colleen M. Carpinella, a UCLA graduate student in psychology. According to a report on the UCLA website, "The researchers also found the opposite to be true: Female politicians with less stereotypically feminine facial features were more likely to be Democrats, and the more liberal their voting record, the greater the distance the politician's appearance strayed from stereotypical gender norms."The study also claims that Democratic male members of the House look more "traditionally masculine" than male Republicans. But according to the" totally unbiased" researcher, that's OK, because it's "unnecessary for Republican men to exhibit masculinity through their appearance. Their policy advocacy and leadership roles may already confer these characteristics on them."

There are just so many things to do when youre online on the internet. You can surf around to pass time, research information, play games with others around the world, keep in touch with friends, socialize with other friends, or possibly even dating them online. Internet dating has been very popular among people who have found no luck within their society or suffered from a breakup and wish to try something new.
People have forums, chat rooms, and different social networking websites available on the net today, no wonder Internet dating has become as popular as it is. It has become so simple to connect with other people. With so many people online looking for mates you would think it would be quite simple to get matched up. But there are a few things you should know that will increase your luck on the Internet.
1- Search in the correct places
There are sites to research if you are searching for your next date on the Internet. sites online used to be popular due to sites being heavily advertised on the net. Now the Internet dating sites are even more popular but they do cost to join them and there are sites that tsry to scam you so don't just blindly join them.
It is recommended that you find the sites instead that are either social network sites or chat rooms. If you are truly planning on diving right in on that type of crowd to locate your next date then follow the following advice.
2. Control your pace and expect anything to happen
No rule exist as far as how to do online dating easily due to it depending on the person's objectives or preferences in Internet dating. What speed you do this at is entirely your decision, you can move extremely quick or you can just take your time and go slow. No matter how you play it, it is important that you watch your pace and be ready for anything to occur. The people that get in too big of a rush and have unlikely expectations about Internet dating can be miserable when things go wrong.
Anything can happen during online dating sessions; the person can be fooling you or sending fake pictures or may not have the same views with you as your views with him or her. Some less serious dating online can blossom into something deep and serious. Always know the possible outcomes of dating online before you take things seriously.
3. Give time for yourself
It is totally unwise to move too quickly with online dating as you may start ignoring your other responsibilities in your life. Many individuals get so absorbed in the online dating that they do not see the danger of this until their online relationship ends and they can be left even with depression if not careful. To not have this situation happen keep your life balanced between your regular life and your Internet activities and this helps alleviate the effect of unexpected events.
Online dating is often entertaining, life changing, and fun but you need to have an understanding of all aspects of online dating and be ready for all sorts of things to occur and you will ultimately enjoy yourself.
